Ambessais a woman to be feared. Born into the powerful Medarda family, she carries a heavy legacy on her shoulders. She has proven her value, led armies to glory, slain magnificent beasts, and conquered everything. There’s not a single person who isn’t aware of Ambessa Medarda. Her sacrifices paved her ascent to the realm of death and granted her a vision of herself on the throne of the vast Noxian empire.
The Ambessa Medarda: Chosen of the Wolf novel followsAmbessain her quest to lead the clan — a necessary step toward claiming the Noxian throne. This title is contested by her cousin and former confidante Ta’Fik. He knows every bloody sin that she carries and he does not want her on that throne.

Who is C. L. Clark, the author of Ambessa’s novel?
C. L. Clark is an American award-winning editor and writer of The Unbroken and The Faithless, which are the first books of the Magic of the Lost trilogy. Clark is also the author of several short stories and a few essays. She graduated from Indiana University’s creative writing MFA program. According to her Amazon biography, “when she’s not imagining the fall of empires, she’s trying not to throw her kettlebells through the walls.”

Ambessa’s new book is already in pre-order onAmazonandBarnes & Noble. The book, edited by Orbit Books, can be ordered as a hardcover for $30, paperback for $19.99, or an ebook for $9.99. There’s also an audiobook option. The novel has 400 pages and has a release date of July 23, 2025.
