Azure Ray has announced few members’ departure and their temporary lineup for the next tournament after the early elimination at Riyadh.
Azure Ray announced a transition period after being eliminated early in the Play-In stage of Riyadh Masters 2024. Today, they officially revealed several members leaving and a new temporary lineup. This adjustment aims to prepare for the upcoming Clavision Snow Ruyi Invitational.
Azure Ray roster changes
In its latest announcement, Azure Ray team stated that coach Zhang “LaNm” Zhicheng, midlaner Zeng “Ori” Jiaoyang, position four player Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida, and position five player Jiang “天命(TianMing)” An will move into inactive status.
LaNm has coached Azure Ray since its start, leading the team to top six in Tier one tournaments many times. Recently, AR’s drafting phase faced community criticism, and their performance has been average.
Xu “fy” Linsen, as an original AR member, returned to competitive play with Somnus and chalice, achieving fourth place at The International 2023. Rumors suggest his issues like lack of practice, resulting in tensions with Yang “Erika” Shaohan. Additionally, he has a new family member on the way, making this break opportune.
After AR’s first restructuring this year, Ori came out of retirement to join. Considering his role and personal status, it might be a good opportunity for him to back to the retirement club.
TianMing moved to position five after joining AR and made his first TI appearance last year. He is also the only one who didn’t left AR but chose to move into inactive.
