Complexity and OG will have to try their skill at the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown.
The BLAST Premier Fall Groups are currently underway and the fight is on amongst a few teams for the coveted BLAST Fall Finals spot. BIG and Astrails have survived their Round 1 matches to advance to the final match ahead of qualification.

Astralis shut down Complexity
For Astralis fans, watching their team succeed is a bittersweet moment. The team hasn’t had the best of results recently. The team finished in the bottom half of most of its recent tournaments, an unimpressive showing by some standards.
The Astralis vs Complexity match started slow for Astralis with Complexity stringing together several rounds on the CT side. However, Astralis won six straight rounds to close out the half and actually take a lead.

With his 27 kills dev1ce was towering over the competition on Astralis. The former NIP player managed multi-kills in several crucial situations to hand his team the lead. With an 85.9 ADR on Mirage, Christian Møss “Buzz” Andersen was equally important and crucial in Astralis’ victory.
Vertigo was Astralis’ map pick and their biggest test was on Overpass. However, Overpass is a map that Astralis has traditionally been good at.

Astralis won the first ten rounds on Overpass on their CT side. Try as they might Complexity simply couldn’t find a way through the Astralis defense. The first half ended with a 12-3 score in favor of Astralis and by all means, the series seemed almost over for Complexity by this point in time. Overpass is a CT-sided map, but it is not a 12-3 CT-sided map. Astralis won Overpass with a 16-4 score.

BIG survive OG
BIG and OG also kicked off on Mirage. The first half was extremely close even though the teams won streaks of rounds. Mantuu ran rampant on Mirage with timely flanks and just superior aim. He ended Mirage with a 102.1 ADR and 26 kills.
But even though BIG had the advantage on Mirage first half, OG’s CT side was much more superior. They allowed BIG to have only three rounds on their T side, winning Mirage with a 16-11 score.

The two teams moved on to Overpass, where BIG hoped to bounce back after letting their eyes off the ball in the previous map.
But a 5-10 start to the map was not a good sign for BIG fans who were expecting a much more dominant display by their favorite team. But BIG’s CT side was much more formidable on Overpass ensuring they were able to cut off rotations and take control of the Connector regularly. BIG won Overpass with a 16-13 score taking the series to Ancient.

On Ancient, BIG started on the CT side and they took full advantage of securing the first CT sided half. They took a 10-5 lead on Ancient with tabseN and s1n stepping up for the team.
TabseN ended Ancient with 30 kills to his name and with 27 kills, s1n wasn’t far behind. The momentum was clearly on the side of the Germans as they progressed through the map. OG couldn’t string together multiple rounds on their CT side to break the BIG economy on the second half. And that only meant their economy was much weaker as the Counter-Terrorist side. It was only a matter of time before BIG won Ancient and they did so with a 16-11 score.

With this victory, BIG and Astralis advance to the final round at BLAST Premier Fall Groups. Astralis will face Team Liquid while BIG go up against Team Vitality. The winner of those matches will qualify for the BLAST Premier Fall Finals in November.
