Asian Counter-Strike is back in a big way with eXTREMESLAND.

Many CS2 fans feared the worst when Valve announced the switch to the VRS format for the competitive calendar — that smaller regions, like Asia, would miss out on events entirely. They’re wrong, with endemic organizer eXTREMESLAND making a comeback and kicking off the year with the eXTREMESLAND Asia Open!

16 teams from all over Asia converged on Shanghai, China from Jan. 14 to 19 to determine who will open the year as one of the region’s top teams. Here’s everything you need to know about eXTREMESLAND Asia Open including the schedule, results, teams, and more.

eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024 format and teams

The eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024 was an event that featured 16 teams from all over Asia and the Pacific regions. The attendees were split into four groups of four where they played out a GSL-style double-elimination bracket. The top two from each group proceeded to the playoffs.

It was a lot simpler for the playoffs: the final eight played out a single-elimination bracket. The last team left standing was crowned champions. Here is the full team list for eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2024:
