Take on the Vex with this iconic hand cannon.

Fatebringer is one of Destiny 2’s most iconic Legendary weapons. Ever since it arrived with the Vault of Glass raid in Destiny 1, this beloved Kinetic HC has rarely seen time in players' vaults as having it on standby is common.

In Destiny 2, its perk pool copped a glow up, and with Episode: Heresy in 2025 it was brought up to scratch with a new set of traits and the Timelost Magazine origin trait. Here’s the god roll for Fatebringer in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2

What is the god roll for Fatebringer in Destiny 2?

Fatebringer PvE god roll

Fatebringer is one of the best PvE hand cannons in Destiny 2. It was already an add-clear beast but Episode: Heresy’s update only enhanced the potential of this Kinetic weapon.

I’m leaning toward Rewind Rounds, for a boost to magazine size based on the number of shots landed before needing to reload, and Firefly, for a reload speed increase and explosions on precision kills.

If you’re taking on encounters where even the red-bar minors have higher health, switch Rewind Rounds for Kinetic Tremors. This creates an earthquake-like effect when landing shots against a single target, damaging those around it. Combined with a Firefly explosion, Fatebringer is a handy add-clear HC.

Fatebringer PvP god roll

Fatebringer is one of very few weapons that can roll Magnificent Howl — arguably the best perk for a hand cannon in PvP. Mag. Howl grants upgraded rounds based on the number of headshots hit before reloading. These rounds deal extra damage and have higher range.

We’re pairing that with Opening Shot to lock in that first headshot after reloading. I’m also liking the improved To The Pain which boosts handling and aim assist as you take damage. In a head-to-head fight, you’ll often come out the victor as aim assist from To The Pain will offset flinch.

I’d still recommend armor mods for reducing Kinetic weapon flinch to be sure!

How to get Fatebringer in Destiny 2

Fatebringer is part of the Vault of Glass collection, meaning you’ll need to run theVault of Glass raidto get it.

The hand cannon drops specifically from the Templar and Gatekeeper Labyrinth encounters. You can also pick up a red-border Deepsight version from the vendor after defeating Atheon. Collecting five red-border Fatebringers unlocks the crafting recipe for you to pick and enhance the perks you want.
