Thanks to somesuspicious tweets by Square Enix, it was rumored that we would finally get a fresh look atFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeduring today’s State of Play stream. As it turns out, those rumors were true, as Sony and Square Enix finally released a new trailer for the long-awaited game, showing off gameplay and promising “more to come” in June.
The newFinal Fantasy 7 Remaketrailer shows off the beginning areas of the game, giving fans a new look at the first time Cloud meets Aerith. It also shows Cloud and Barret facing off against Sephiroth,Final Fantasy 7’s infamous villain.
Luckily for those looking forward toFinal Fantasy 7 Remake, the new teaser trailer shows more than just story scenes. It also lets fans take a peak at gameplay, showing Cloud, Aerith, and Barret in action against some of the game’s early enemies. This includes the Guard Scorpion, which fans of the original game will remember asFinal Fantasy 7’s very first boss.
We haven’t seen much ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remakesince it wasoriginally announced all the way back at E3 2015, so the new trailer is sure to get fans buzzing. However, some may be worried about getting too excited, asFinal Fantasy 7 Remakecould still be a long way off from release.
Unfortunately, the newFinal Fantasy 7 Remaketrailer didn’t reveal the game’s release date. That being said, the new trailer does end with a promise that more information onFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewill come in June, so maybe some concrete release date information will come as early as next month.
It seems like fans can take the “more to come in June” promise as a confirmation thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewill be at E3 2019. More specifically,Final Fantasy 7 Remakewill likely be shown duringSquare Enix’s E3 2019 press conference, scheduled to take place on June 10 at 6:00pm PT. Whether or not we get a release date forFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeis up in the air, but at the very least, fans can expect to see more of the highly anticipated game.
