DespiteHalo Infinitebeing a spotlight for Xbox at E3 2019, it’sHalo: Reachthat franchise fans may be most excited for. In March, earlier this year, Xbox and 343 Industries confirmed thatHalo: Reachwould be coming toHalo: The Master Chief Collection. It’d also be coming to PC, leading the way for a fullPCHalo: The Master Chief Collectionrelease, as well. Fans have since waited diligently, but the wait me coming to an end.

According to an official update from 343 Industries,Halo: Reach"Flight" testingis just about ready to begin. The studio says that it’s happy with, but still testing, a build ofHalo: Reachthat could initiate its first round of beta testing as soon as next week. 343’s Flighting is akin to most beta testing, in that it’ll be open to a limited group of players at first.

For those hoping to participate in theHalo: Reachbeta test, only those registered for the Halo Insiders program will have a chance at being invited. Registration is through theHalo Waypoint websiteand requires opting in to either or both the PC and console flighting. Not all registrants will be invited to participate.

In many ways, theHalofranchise is entering a new chapter. That it starts not withHalo Infinite, which will launch alongside theXbox’s Project Scarlet next-gen hardware in 2020, but withHalo: The Master Chief Collection’s release on PC and the relaunch ofHalo: Reachis a testament to the importance of the franchise’s origins even now. And despite the mild reception toHalo 4andHalo 5, fans are increasingly excited forHalo: Reach’s upcoming launch, which could indicate that the potential of the franchise remains high.
