" It all start with a big bang ! " At least , that ’s how the"Barenaked Ladies"and " The Big Bang Theory " producers   would have you believe it . TheBig Bang theoryhas been the leading account for   the origin of our creation for decades , one that ’s supported by a proverbial heap of evidence .

First of all , we can see that the world is still enlarge in all directions . In fact , recent researchsuggests it ’s expanding even quicker than we would expect it to . secondly , there ’s acosmic microwave oven setting ( CMB ) –   what scientists believe is the radiation afterglow of the Big Bang –   detectable from every counselling .

There are other theory , for example theOscillating Universe Theory ,   that supposes the universe rock back and forth , but the vast majority of astronomers ascribe to the Big Bang .

Juliano Cesar Silva Neves , a physicist from the University of Campinas in Brazil , however , is not one of them . In a report published inGeneral Relativity and Gravitation , he put forwards a different theory – the singularity that run to the Big Bang never existed .

alternatively , he propose that there was a period of contraction that preceded the present period of time of expansion .

" annihilate the singularity or Big Bang wreak back the bouncing Universe on to the theoretical stagecoach of cosmology , " Neves explain in astatement .   " The absence seizure of a uniqueness at the commencement of spacetime unfold up the hypothesis that vestiges of a previous contraction phase may have withstood the form change and may still be with us in the ongoing expansion of the Universe . "

To explain his theory , Neves turns to blackened holes and a mathematical trick first put forward by US physicist James Bardeen in 1968 . Bardeen come up with a recipe that made   it potential to have a opprobrious yap without a singularity , while still keeping to the law of general relativity – he distinguish these " regular black muddle " . To do this ,   Bardeen reasoned that the mass of a black hole could be seen as a function   depending on the distance to the black hole ’s   essence rather than as a invariable , as previously assumed .

Neves   merely took this theme and apply it to another singularity – the initial singularity , which   foreshadowed the Big Bang .

Theoretically at least , this signify thatthe Big Bounce theorycould be back in the cards . Instead of the existence inflating from an infinitely dense point ( the Big Bang hypothesis ) , this intend the creation unendingly lucubrate and contract , each expansion and contraction lasting billions of years .

While it ’s a lovely approximation , there is , of yet , not a lot of physical   proof to back it up , though Neves suggestswe start looking at black gob .

" [ R]emnants of pitch-dark holes from a late stage of universal contraction … may have survived the bound , " headded .
