Headshots are the primary camo challenge in Black Ops 6, so how do you earn more of them?

For the first time since 2018, headshots are the primary camo challenge in Call of Duty. For example, 100 Headshots are required to earn all the Military camos for just about every weapon in Black Ops 6 — excluding launchers and melee weapons. This means you need close to 3,000 headshots to earn Dark Matter in multiplayer, which is no small feat.

Fortunately, there are ways to maximize your headshot potential in Black Ops 6. From equipping certain attachments, playing a certain way, and going into specific game modes, you can really speed up the headshot process with a few easy tricks.

Best ways to get headshots in Black Ops 6

First and foremost, the easiest way to go about getting headshots is to follow one simple rule: aim higher. While there are some exceptions to that rule, such as flinching when being shot by an enemy, that’s going to be the top tip to remember when going forMilitary camos.

Of course, there are some tricks you may take advantage of to help you aim higher and earn headshots at a much faster pace. We’ll lay out those tricks below so you can see exactly what you should be doing for headshots in Black Ops 6.

Play Hardcore game modes

Any veteran of the Call of Duty series will know this trick. Hardcore game modes are always the best modes to play when on the camo grind. Everyone’s health is reduced down to 22 from 100, so a well-placed headshot will one-shot-kill an enemy just about every time. This means, if you’re accurate, you may go around the map one-tapping enemies and earn headshots at a blisteringly fast pace.

There are some weapons where Hardcore modes aren’t as helpful, but for the most part, expediting the headshot process will take you to this playlist.

Use specific attachments

Certain attachments in Black Ops 6 offer increased headshot multiplier damage. The most common attachment you’ll see is the CHF Barrel, which is available on most weapons in multiplayer. This barrel offers an increase to the amount of damage you deal when you hit a headshot in exchange for increasing your recoil, so you’ll be less accurate.

While the loss of accuracy isn’t great, you may always make up for it with other attachments on any given loadout. The barrel or any other headshot damage attachment isn’t essential for the camo grind, but they can help if you’re using a weaker weapon. Using the CHF Barrel, for example, also pairs well with Hardcore modes.

Flank and stay silent

The final tip we have is implementing a specific playstyle when going for headshots in Black Ops 6. While you certainly can run at enemies head-on and use your aiming abilities to go for their heads, that won’t yield the best results in most cases.

The best approach is to equip stealthy class items like a suppressor, along with the Ghost and Ninja perks, to flank enemies. By doing this, you can get behind them, and if they don’t know you’re there, you have free kills on enemies. You can aim for the head, deal with each enemy silently and quickly, and then move on to the next one.

That wraps up the tips and tricks we have for getting headshots in Black Ops 6. These tricks will certainly help, but you’ll still have to be accurate and aim for the head properly to breeze through the camo grind.
