PNG x TL: fighting for the minor region’s respect
paiN Gaming will once again try to prove its value. After an encounter with the LEC #1, G2 Esports, and the Worlds 2023 winner, T1, we can say that paiN’s draft hasn’t been the best so far. Now, it’s their last chance to go further in the championship and still deliver great games at LoL Worlds 2024. Will they be able to win against North America?

Worlds 2024: paiN Gaming vs Team Liquid Matches Recaps
Welcome to the match recaps. Here you will find the recaps of every match with the key moments and best plays from every team.
Match 1
The game of the Americas. Who was going to win? The fan’s predictions were right: Team Liquid. But the game was not always easy for them. Summoner’s Rift was calm, until paiN Gaming started a fight on mid that seemed good for them, but ended up being better for Team Liquid.
The Brazilian team did the void grubs, Wizer almost got a kill on bot lane, but mid was very bad for them. Team Liquid kept doing the remaining objectives, keeping some control of the game. And, out of a sudden, TitaN’s Ezreal steals the drake with his ultimate! It seems that UmTi will have a huge conversation about smite.

Yeon was a beast with Kai’Sa. The game was not looking good for paiN. In the middle of the game, the fights started to slow down, paiN magaed to find some interesting picks but Team Liquid was already too strong for that to make a difference. Yeon was already too strong, impossible to kill. And with a huge fight in paiN Gaming’s jungle, Team Liquid kills everyone and ends the game.
Match 2
The rafts were slightly different from the first match. The first five minutes were calm and balanced, not a lot of initiative from either team. Team Liquid starts to create some great picks, taking away spells and gaining early kills. They started to show who was going to dominate that game.
However, paiN was not giving up so easily. They managed to keep the gold equal. They even made six void grubs, but APA was already too strong as Neeko. The fights were intense, sometimes looking good for paiN, sometimes for Team Liquid. The North Americans even show their reverse card by stealing the drake with the Ezreal’s ultimate, just like paiN did in the first match.

The goal was getting even closer but it was already too difficult for paiN to change the path of the game. The match was unbelievable, what a great show from both teams. With a huge game, Team Liquids wins the match and has another chance to prove their value and to be able to qualify for the Knockout Stage. Will they make it?
The Brazilian team shows their strength during the whole tournament, making great performances. That was not enough for the team to keep playing in Worlds 2024, but was a great mark for the Brazilian League of Legends. They made history as the first Brazilian team to ever qualify for the LoL Worlds Swiss Stage and will go home with their heads up.
