The latest Marvel Rivals update is here! This patch sees the arrival of the hilarious Giant-Size Hive Mind mode, new skin bundles for Squirrel Girl and Rocket Raccoon, revamped spray and emote wheels, and more. Here are all of the May 8 Marvel Rivals patch notes for version 20250508.

Marvel Rivals Giant-Size Hive Mind game mode
In Marvel Rivals' new update, players can duke it out in the Giant-Size Hive Mind game mode. The first round of this goes from May 8 to May 11 for those playing on the U.S. servers. Meanwhile, the second round is slated for May 15 to May 18.
Prior to this game mode’s release, NetEase Games revealed a trailer that showcased some hilarious Giant-Size Hive Mind shenanigans. This mode gives everyone oversized heads!

Marvel Rivals Squirrel Girl summer skin
Next, we have a brand-new skin for Squirrel Girl. It looks like Marvel Rivals heroes are heading to the beach this summer, and Squirrel Girl’s swimsuit costume is now available through the in-game shop. Rocket Raccoon’s own Sunshine Raccoon Bundle can also be added to your collection.
Marvel Rivals update revamps emote and spray wheels
The latest Marvel Rivals patch notes also feature revamps of the emote and spray wheels. As noted, they’re now split into two separate wheels. They also have hotkeys to help you show off emotes and sprays faster.
When you go into the Cosmetics - Sprays menu, you can also share your current spray wheel across all of the Marvel Rivals heroes. There’s even a new quick-equip feature that automatically slots in newly-acquired emotes.
As for other cosmetic and item updates, hero portraits now reflect equipped costumes.
Meanwhile, anonymous voice chat no longer reveals original player names and bugs involving Jeff the Shark and Bruce Banner are now fixed.
