Robots in motion tend to stay in motion; robots at rest tend to stay at rest
As somebody who has had ideas for using games as tools for education, things likeMecanikaare particularly interesting to me. Though physics has become more prominent in games as time has passed, developer CREO wants to utilize realistic Newtonian mechanics to give students a better fundamental understanding of how the world works.
The really neat thing here is that ascientific studywas done on the effectiveness ofMecanikain teaching basic physics to students, and those who supplemented their traditional instruction with it performed better than those who did not on average. Now, CREO is turning to Kickstarter in order to fund an updated version of the game in order to bring it to a wider audience and help inspire more people to learn about physics. Science!
