As promised during the Pokémon Presents, Mega Evolution returned to Pokémon TCG with a couple of Mega-themed sets.
Two new Pokémon TCG sets are announced for a Japanese release on Aug 05, 2025—the Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia, which will likely belong to a new series, the Pokémon Card Game MEGA.

As of writing, the sets only feature two cards: Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex. The Pokémon Company already revealed theseMega Evolution cards in the Pokémon Presentslivestream, but this time, their Japanese copies added something more, particularly their set identifiers, both bearing the abbreviation “M1L.”

Meet the MEGA-iconic cards for Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia
Mega Lucario ex will be the face of Mega Brave, while its counterpart, Mega Gardevoir ex, will serve as the mascot for Mega Symphonia. So far, the sets don’t have a launch date for their English versions, so stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks or months.

In addition to the sets, the Mega Pokémon-oriented series will also contain a Premium Trainer Box, as well as a pair of theme decks showcasing Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diancie ex.
The Premium Trainer Box will come with some booster packs, including the usual goodies like Energy cards, damage counters, and special condition markers.

On the other hand, no details have surfaced yet about the contents of the Mega Gengar ex and Mega Diance ex decks. However, it’s safe to say that they will have a similar structure to the previous theme decks in Pokémon TCG.
It is worth noting that the 2019 Cosmic Eclipse of the Sun and Moon series became the last set that introduced Mega Evolution Pokémon in the form of a TAG TEAM GX card. And after more than half a decade, these powerful Pokémon will once again enter the Standard format, potentially redefining the future meta.
