As predicted by a recent leak, the game will be calledNeed for Speed Heat. It will feature an open world full of street racing and cop chasing. Ghost Games promised an immersive narrative that will take players all over the fictional Palm City in order to compete for street racing fame.

The newNeed for Speedwill feature a combination of legally sanctioned daytime races and illegal night races. Each race type will allow players to earn stats and upgrades. In the daytime races, which are called Speedhunters Showdown, players will earn Bank to purchase new vehicles and upgrades to customize their cars. The underground night races will add a bit more danger in the mix. Cops will patrol the streets in order to take racers down. During the night, Racers can build their Rep in the city.

Ghost Games creative director says the game will feature much more customization that past games in the franchise. He says they want to give players a lot of options that will make them unique through vehicle and character customization.

The announcement included details about the different versions of the game that fans can pre-order. Fans that pre-order the standard edition will get a K.S. Edition styled Mitsubishi X. Fans who pre-order the deluxe edition will receive three K.S. Edition cars: a BMW i8 Coupe, a Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe, and a Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. Deluxe edition owners will also receive access to exclusive clothing options and increased earnings of in-game Bank and Rep. No word yet on if the new game will followEA’s other games and forego a season pass.
