Coming to Japan later this year

Japanese video game publisher Level-5 has dropped a teaser trailer for its upcoming mobile RPGNi no Kuni: Cross Worlds,which is headed to iOS and Android platforms in Japan later this year.

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worldswill see players in the role of a young beta tester, who has been hired to check out a new virtual reality-style title known as “Soul Divers.” It soon becomes clear, however, that Soul Divers is far more powerful than your average VR title, featuring a huge – and seemingly very real – kingdom which is under siege by armies of monsters.

Teaming with a mysterious woman, Rania, the protagonist sets forth on a quest to gather allies, fight back against the invaders, and protect the kingdom and its people. But where does the game end and reality begin? Or are they, in fact, both one and the same?

Ni no Kuni: Cross Worldslaunches in Japan on iOS and Android later in 2020. A western localisation is yet to be announced.
