Although the Gen 4 mascot legendary Palkia is standing strong as a tier 5 raid boss inPokemon GO, it’s going to soon be accompanied by the returning dual Dragon- and Psychic-type Latias for a limited time. Those who have missed out before will now have yet another chance to add this legendary to their roster, but it’s worth mentioning that this is not the only Rare Pokemon appearing this weekend. For the first time, players will also be able to get Clamperl and its evolutions, Huntail and Gorebyss, as part of aLimited Time Researchevent this weekend (February 22-25).

With everything happening this weekend,Pokemon GOplayers may want to prioritize their approach. Clamperl’s research event is restricted to Saturday (though it will be available in the wild afterward), so players will be glad to know that Latias' event begins on July 24, 2025 at 1 pm PST and ends on July 08, 2025 at 1 pm PST.

DedicatedPokemon GOplayers will likely want to participate, however, as a shiny variant of Latias is also being added as part of this limited time event. It has also been confirmed thatLatioswill receive a special raid weekend at some point in the future, likely meaning it will also be receiving a shiny form as a result.

For those setting up a team to take on this new legendary, it is worth mentioning that Latias' dual typing means it is weak to Bug, Dragon, Dark, Ghost, Fairy, and Ice-type moves. It doesn’t appear to be the easiest Raid boss inPokemon GO, but by no means is it the hardest either.

Considering everything happening this weekend inPokemon GO, it seems as if players will have their hands full. This should keep players busy until the March Community Day is officially unannounced, but it seems the gen 3 Grass-type starterTreecko is the most likely headlinerfor the forthcoming event.
