Back in May, The Pokemon Company held a special presentation where it revealed a variety of upcomingPokemonvideo games and products. While the presentation included a look at thebizarrePokemon Sleep, it also saw the announcement of a newPokemonmobile game calledPokemon Masters, which gathers all of the main characters from the core series together in one game for the first time ever.
The gimmick ofPokemon Mastersis that instead of players building a team of Pokemon for battles, everyone has one partner Pokemon that they’re attached to for the entire game. With that in mind, The Pokemon Company has pulled the curtain back on two more trainers who will be featured inPokemon Masters, Clair and Red, as well as who their partner Pokemon will be in the game.
Red, the main character ofPokemon Red, will fittingly be paired with Charizard. Charizard was the Pokemon featured on the box art ofPokemon Red, so it makes sense for Red to be partnered with it inPokemon Masters. Clair, meanwhile, is a Johto region gym leader who specializes in dragon-type Pokemon, and so her partner Pokemon is Kingdra.
Since it was previously confirmed thatall past Pokemon trainers will be inPokemon Masters, it was assumed that Red and Clair would be in the game. However, it’s still nice to have confirmation from The Pokemon Company that they will in fact be included, and that their partner Pokemon fit their characters.
The Pokemon Company still has yet to reveal the partner Pokemon that will be paired with many of the other trainers inPokemon Masters. The game is currently set to launch before the end of the summer, so perhaps we will learn more about its characters and other details within the coming weeks.
If The Pokemon Company decides to stay tight-lipped about what else fans can expect from the upcomingPokemon Mastersmobile game, then fans will just have to play it themselves to learn more when it finally launches within the next couple of months.
Pokemon Masterswill launch this summer for iOS and Android mobile devices.
