Get ready for shiny Charcadet and Kubfu in Pokémon GO.
The brand new season of Pokémon GO is kicking off with the Powerful Potential event, getting the season going with a strong set of debuts. Both Kubfu and shiny Charcadet will debut when this event starts in your region.
In addition, if you hadn’t done enough walking during the Global Unova Tour, this event is focused all around Eggs and Hatching. So, get ready to get back out there for some more Pokémon GO!
So, here is everything the Powerful Potential event has in store in Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO Powerful Potential event details and dates
The Powerful Potential event in Pokémon GO will run from Wednesday, March 5, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, August 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Powerful Potential Pokémon debuts
There are two new Pokémon to add to your collections during the event.Kubfu will be debuting into Pokémon GO, with Trainers able to get up to two encounters with Kubfu.
In addition, from the start of this event, Charcadet will be able to be shiny in Pokémon GO. you may find Charcadet in all Eggs besides 12 km during this event.
Gigantamax Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise return
If that wasn’t enough, the first Gigantamax Pokémon that arrived in Pokémon GO will return for the firsy time. You will be able to encounter these three Pokémon in Six-Star Max Battles from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 8 and Sunday, Mar. 9.
If you missed these powerful Pokémon, or didn’t get a shiny, now is a great time to have another go. They’ll be hard to beat, but a lot easier than their debut into the game thanks to adjustments and Max Mushrooms.
