Prepare to save Shadow Palkia in Pokémon GO.
The next Pokémon that Trainers need to save from Giovanni will be Shadow Palkia, which will be coming into the game during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. As with all Team GO Rocket takeovers there are new Shadow Pokémon, refreshed line-ups for Grunts, Sierra, Arlo, Cliff and Giovanni.

Fashion Week: Taken Over event details
The Fashion Week: Taken Over event runs during the second half of the2025 Fashion Week event, which has already been announced. Fashion Week: Taken Over runs from Wednesday, January 15, at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, July 16, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Save Shadow Palkia from Giovanni in Pokémon GO
At the start of the event, Special Research will be unlocked. Progressing through it will give you a Super Rocket Radar and allow you to battle Giovanni. You can claim this Special Research until the end of Pokémon GO: Dual Destiny on June 09, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time.
Then, if you manage to defeat Giovanni you will be able to encounter Shadow Palkia. This looks set to be a pretty useful Pokémon, so will be well worth trying to get.
