Summer Game Fest was created in 2020 as a result of the pandemic, creating a place for game developers to show off their work in a virtual space at a time when physical conferences were impossible.Five years later, the show is still going strong,hosting more games and developers than ever.
In fact, when the fest launches this weekend, it will be more like other trade shows like Gamescom and the canceled E3 that it was originally intended to replace.This year’s Summer Game Fest will include a physical “Play Days” elementheld in downtown Los Angeles, where attendees will be able to get hands-on with exciting new names in the games industry.

Over 60 game developers will be represented at this year’s Summer Game Fest.This year’s attendees include indie studios like Coffee Stain Studios and Devolver Digital, as well as established industry giants like Capcom, CD Projekt, Niantic, and Nintendo. The event also coincides with thearrival of the Nintendo Switch 2 console, which launches the day before the fest is scheduled to begin.
