Here are some tips to help you gain 6-cost units faster in TFT Set 13!
Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Set 13: Into the Arcane introduced three 6-cost units — Mel, Warwick, and Viktor — in Patch 14.24. These brand-new units bring incredible power, much like those showcased in Arcane Season 2, promising to add brand-new experience and excitement to the gameplay.
However, these highly powerful units are extremely rare. Generally, players may only obtain one during the game, let alone upgrade it to a 3-star unit.
Here are some tips to help you gain 6-cost units faster in TFT Set 13.
Maintain a strong economy (50+ gold strategy)
6-cost units become available starting at Stage 4-6 when the Anomaly appears on the board. To prepare, aim to save as much gold as possible while maintaining the stability of your other units.
Commit to either a win streak or a loss streak in the early game to generate additional gold. Loss streaks are particularly effective for building your economy, provided you keep enough HP to recover in the mid-game.
Always aim to hit 50 gold as early as possible to maximize your interest income. This strategy allows you to level up faster while rolling efficiently for 6-cost units.
Know when to level up
6-cost units have a unique mechanism where the odds are not based on level but on stage. However, if you can reach Level 10, it will significantly increase your chances of obtaining 6-cost units.
Push levels early if you’re on a strong win streak and can maintain momentum. Ideally, players need to reach Level 8 before 6-cost units start appearing at Stage 4-6 with an odd of 0.2%. Aim to reach Level 10 by Stage 5-2 to maximize your chances of getting 6-cost units.

Prioritize specific Augments and Items

Additionally, avoid spending gold unnecessarily on early-game items that don’t contribute to your late-game composition. Even if your 6-cost units haven’t appeared yet, you can begin building their items early.
For example, if you’re aiming for Viktor, start assembling his magic-based items. The same applies to Mel. You can use these items on other Mage units initially and transfer them later using a Magnetic Remover. Moreover, try to save your Champion Duplicator to clone your 6-cost units.
Optimize Your Traits
Build a composition with traits that make acquiring 6-cost units easier. One of the most common traits isConqueror, which grants Loot Orbs containing gold, items, or even units you can sell for extra gold.
Aim to assemble six Conquerors as quickly as possible to increase the value of Loot Orb drops. Additionally, the Conqueror trait is generally powerful, with strong frontliners like Swain and Rell and damage dealers like Ambessa and Mordekaiser.
If you can’t find the Conqueror units or Emblem you need, consider combining Conquerors with other traits. For instance, using three Black Rose units to summon Sion as an additional tank is a viable option.
Scout and Adapt
Always scout your opponents, especially starting at Stage 4-6, since others might be targeting the same 6-cost units. There are only nine copies of each 6-cost unit in the pool, meaning only one player can achieve a 3-star 6-cost unit. (In most cases, a 2-star unit is sufficient to secure a win.)
Sometimes, you’re able to predict which 6-cost unit your opponents are aiming for even before Stage 4-6. For example, opponents playing theExperimenttrait are likely targeting Warwick. For Viktor and Mel, observe your opponents’ items to see if they are prioritizing Mage items.
By mastering these strategies, you’ll improve your chances of obtaining and utilizing 6-cost units effectively in TFT Set 13.
