$500,000 on the line for one of the first tournaments on Counter-Strike 2.
The Thunderpick World Championship 2023 has announced the full list of participating teams. With a sizeable prize pool of $500,000, this event will bring together the best in the business to compete against each other.
The tournament will be one of the first top-tier events to take place on Counter-Strike 2. Valve released Counter-Strike 2 on September 27 and the game has seen several patch updates and changes since then. IEM Sydney will be the first ESL event later this month to feature Counter-Strike 2.
Which teams will take part in the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 Playoff?
Here are all the teams that will take part in this tournament. These 16 teams represent some of the top teams in the world.
In addition to the teams that have received an invite, there are also eight teams that qualified for this event. The eight qualified teams would essentially act as a challenger to the top tier teams, most of which are in the top 20.

What is the tournament format?
The sixteen teams will form four groups of four teams each. The teams play a GSL format group stage where each match is a best-of-three series. The top two teams from each group advance to the next phase of the tournament.
The playoffs, on the other hand, feature a single-elimination bracket. All playoffs matches are best-of-three series.
